My skin is very sensitive, can I use
your products?
Yes! Our products are designed
to be skin friendly for even the most sensitive skins,
many people who suffer from skin disorders use our
products and find them extremely beneficial. If
your skin is particularly sensitive, soaps such as
Cleopatra, Neem and Hemp & Honey have extra
skin-nourishing oils in them and are tailored to be
extra gentle.
Do you use Palm Oil?
No, because we care about
deforestation and the orangutans losing their
habitats, we use Olive, Coconut and Rapeseed oils as our
soap base. This has the added bonus of being super
soft on your skin and full of nutritional qualities.
How do you colour your products?
We don't use any artificial colours in
any of our products. Any colours are derived from
natural sources and many have nutritional value as well
as adding colour. For instance, Flower Power
soap's pink colour comes from pink clay, which not only
makes it look pretty but helps draw out the toxins in
your skin.
Do you use artificial fragrances /
parfum?
We don't use any artificial fragrances
or perfumes in our products, we only use essential oils
or scents present in other natural ingredients, for
instance the fresh smell of honey, or scrumptiously
spicy cinnamon.
How is soap made?
We make soap by the cold-process
method - mixing base oils with sodium hydroxide and
water and stirring until the mixture thickens or turns
to trace. Different ingredients are then added to
make individual batches, essential oils, plant extracts
etc. The mixture is then poured into moulds and
left to cure for 4 weeks. The soap is then ready
to use.
Soap made by the cold-process method
retains glycerine and important nutrients in the oils as
they are not damaged by heating to a high temperature.
Glycerine is a by-product of the soap
process - whereas many commercial soap makers strip this
glycerine out of the soap and sell it separately, we
leave ours in as it is an extremely good moisturiser.
